I’m flying on WHAT airline?

A friend recently passed along an article to me regarding the unusual and bad names of airlines world-wide. Some interesting and bad airline names:

  • Wizz Air. This Hungary-based airline’s name makes me want to go to the bathroom.
  • Vanilla Air. Formerly AirAsia, Vanilla Air was recently rebranded with this name because apparently, “everyone likes vanilla.”
  • Hooters Air. I always found this airline concept, ahem, interesting. Beer, wings, and short-shorts at 35,000 feet? Um, okay.

For me, the most unusual airline name that I have flown was SmartWings, when I flew from Prague, Czech Republic to Nice, France. SmartWings is a brand of the air transport company Travel Service, a.s., and is considered to be the largest low-cost air carrier in the Czech Republic.

SmartWings 737 TravelService

SmartWings is a brand of the air transport company Travel Service, a.s. for regular flights with the base at the Airport Prague.

What is the weirdest name of an airline you have flown on?
